For some reason, my deleated files are not going to the recycle bin. I don't know where they're going. Is your recycle bin full? Once its full, windows will just dump deleted files. In Recycle bin properties, try dragging the slider to the right to increase its size. Or try deleting some of the older items to make some space. Otherwise, its probably a case of getting the Windows CD out and reloading it.

Out of the box there is no way in SharePoint to preserve a site when its deleted unless you have backed it up before the deletion.
